So entry kali ini,I nak share with u olls about ONE CARD network.
So this card actually digunakan oleh The South Australian public library. Means that yang card ini boleh diguna oleh pengguna yang berdaftar di seluruh Australia.

The South Australian public library 'one card' network is connecting the systems of more than 130 public libraries across South Australia to let you borrow and return items wherever you go, using your current library card.


It's perfect for when you're out and about or travelling - carrying multiple library cards will become a thing of the past!

Yes, millions! With access to multiple libraries, the materials of all participating libraries become available to you.


If you've always wanted a wider choice of books, DVDs, CDs and magazines from your local library, you'll find lots to love about the new 'one card' network.




Borrowing what you want is just a click away

To get the quickest access to the millions of items available, simply go online and use the new reservation system of participating libraries to look up items and reserve them with a click.
With the centralised system you no longer have to separately look up multiple library catalogues.
When your items become available, they will be delivered to your preferred library.

Cuba anda bayang hanya mengunakan card ini kita boleh connect with more than 130 public libraries tapi across SA jela,nak guna kat Malaysia memang tak dapat la kan.
Alangkah bagusnya kalau Public Library kan Malaysia pun turut apply perkara yang sama kan.So tak payahlah user kena register banyak kali setiap kali nak buat peminjaman or pemulangan.Hurm..

Field 242 & 880

Assalamualaikum... 

Saya sebenarnya ingin berkongsi dengan anda terutama mereka yang sama-sama dalam bidang perpustakaan. Saya berminat untuk berkongsi pengalaman saya mengunakan Field 241, Field 880 Dan Field 241,saya akui yang saya bukanlah librarian atau cataloger yang baik tapi saya hanya belajar melalui pengalaman sahaja.Jika tersalah sila betulkan saya yer..TQ Kita mulakan dulu dengan Field 241 

  

241 Romanized Title 

Sebenarnya sebelum Field 880 diperkenalkan,cataloger mengunakan Field 241 tetapi Field 241 was made obsolete when field 880 (Alternate Graphic Representation) was defined in 1982. The field contained the romanized form of a bibliographic title that was transcribed in nonroman characters in a manual catalog record. The first indicator position specified whether a title added entry should be generated (values 0, 1); the second was defined for nonfiling characters (values 0-9). The subfield codes were: $a (Romanized title) and $h (Medium). Senang cerita,field ini digunakan untuk Romanized title yang dalam bahasa lain atau sebaliknya.

Sebagai contoh Buku tersebut dalam bahasa cina (Chinese character) so gunalah Field 880 untuk Romanized.Bukan Translate tau..ingat tu.. 880 - Alternate Graphic Representation (R) Definition: Fully content-designated representation, in a different script, of another field in the same record. Field 880 is linked to the associated regular field by subfield $6 (Linkage). A subfield $6 in the associated field also links that field to the 880 field. The data in field 880 may be in more than one script.

 *Kita gunakan untuk romanized bahasa arab ke dalam bahasa Melayu. 

242 - Translation of Title by Cataloging Agency (R) 

Definition: Translation of the title proper that is made by the cataloging agency when the translated title does not appear as a parallel title on the item. For a note, the introductory phrase Title translated: may be generated based on the field tag for display. Translated titles which appear on the piece as a parallel title would be recorded in field 245 (Title Statement). 

Untuk tag ini anda sebagai agency or library berhak untuk menterjemah semula bahan atau buku tersebut dalam apa jua bahasa yang anda ingin.Ok saya bagi satu contoh,bayangkan anda sebagai cataloger di Mesir dan antara mendapat satu buku yang bertajuk “الحضارة الإسلامية” so terjemahan tajuk tersebut dalam bahasa melayu iaitu “Tamadun Islam” dan Tag 242 adalah jawapannya. Tag 242 adalah jelas menunjukkan ianya digunakan untuk menterjemahkan tajuk tersebut,saya ambil contoh tajuk yang paling senangla yer, “I love you” so bila ianya diterjemahkan menjadi “saya cinta kamu” so Tag 242 adalah sebaik-baik tag untuk title tersebut.

 Example:

242 10 $a حرية الدين والردة، والإسلام/|c عبداللہ سعید اور حسن سعید.
